FIBRE 101: BEHIND THE CONSCIOUS DECISION
Leather is one of those materials that’s been used for thousands of years, enduring through its ability to provide durability, insulation, and protection from the elements. Our use of leather is super limited for obvious reasons; and we’re extra committed to full transparency on where our leather is coming from and conscious of how many products we offer that are made from leather. We only use ethically sourced New Zealand Real Grade Leather, which ensures skins are direct by-products from the meat and dairy industry, that strict animal welfare standards are adhered to, and that only REACH approved chemicals are used. Official veterinarians ensure the 5 freedoms and animal welfare laws are implemented, as is stipulated in our supplier code of conduct, meaning all JAG suppliers must adhere to this.
THE LEATHER CARE GUIDE: HOW TO MAKE YOUR LEATHER LAST FOREVER
Leather is one of those fabrics designed to be loved for years and years to come. Look after it properly and you’ll be stoked with how long it lasts for you. It also doesn’t require any special products to be kept clean which we love.
Use a clean rag dipped in a solution of soap and water to gently wipe the surface.Â
Don’t use chemicals or conditioners, do not iron and make sure to keep your leather products away from extreme heat or damp.Â
Suede must be kept away from water and only treated with a suede cleaning product. Both suede and leather products should be dry cleaned by a leather specialist dry cleaner every couple of years.Â
